Before dialing
Write the address, owner or authorized contact, occupied areas, roof type if documented, event date, interior symptom, exterior ground observation, and access limits. Have prior proposals or inspection reports ready, but do not send private records until the recipient and purpose are clear.
Questions for the recipient
Ask for the legal company name, whether it covers the address, whether the roof type and concern fit its work, who would inspect, whether there is a visit charge, and what confirmation will be sent. Later verify credentials, insurance, permit role, price, and contract terms directly.
Use the correct authority
Call emergency services for an immediate threat, the insurer for policy and claim questions, the City of Raleigh for permit or historic-review questions, and NCLBGC for its license records. The referral line cannot make those decisions.
Put the roof question into words
Have the property type, safe observation, date, and existing records ready. Ask the recipient to identify the company and confirm whether the address and roof concern fit its work.
Raleigh Roofing Comparison Desk is a roofing information and referral publisher, not the roofing contractor. A call may connect you with an independent provider or call service. Confirm the recipient, Raleigh coverage, service fit, credentials, insurance, availability, price, permit responsibility, and contract terms before authorizing work.
