Trace contributing roof areas
Map roof faces, valleys, steep discharge points, lower roofs, gutters, drains, outlets, and overflows. Note additions and places where one roof concentrates water onto another. Ask the provider which areas informed its quantity and layout.
Describe the visible system
Compare profile, material, finish, hangers, spacing basis, slope, seams, corners, outlets, downspouts, straps, elbows, guards, screens, fascia repairs, edge metal, and discharge pieces. Product width alone does not define attachment or outlet capacity.
Define the tested boundary
Ask how flow is observed and where the provider's responsibility ends. Water entering a buried leader does not prove its destination or condition. Record any underground, grading, foundation, or public drainage review as separate work.
Plan maintenance access
